National Margarita Day!

I am all about cooking and creating new recipes but when it comes to drinks, that is all the husband! I basically have an at home bartender at all times! Well, I think his Margaritas are the absolute best. So much, that when mom comes over she will literally call when she is 10 minutes just to tell my husband to start getting her Margarita ready! Okay… I may be bragging a little too much but they really are good.

In honor of National Margarita Day, here are my current top 3 favorite Margaritas! Virtual happy hour anyone?….

Winter Grapefruit

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Mezcal
  • 1 1/2 oz triple sec
  • 1/2 oz lime juice
  • 3/4 oz grapefruit juice
  • rim: agave & sugar
  • grapefruit slices and lime wedge for garnish

Classic Margarita

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz orange juice
  • 1 1/2 oz tequila blanco
  • 1 1/2 oz triple sec
  • 1/2 oz lime juice
  • rim: salt of choice (I love spicy salt!)
  • lime wedges for garnish

Cucumber Spicy Margarita

*This recipe is inspired by my 2nd favorite bartender… Maria at the Excellence Playa Mujeres Resort. We have gone to this resort every year since we have been married and I always look for her. She is my girl!!!

Ingredients

  • 4-6 thick slices of cucumber
  • 2-3 slices of Jalapeño
  • 2 oz tequila
  • 1 1/2 oz Triple sec
  • 1/2 oz lime juice
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice
  • drizzle of Agave (optional)
  • rim: chili salt
  • cucumber strips and jalapeño slices for garnish

Muddle cucumber & jalapeño slices at the bottom on your shaker. Add ice and remainder ingredients. Shake and pour all into glass! (if you do not like spicy, just skip jalapeño. It is still as delicious!)
