I believe I have been asked 100+ times if I really use that tool. I am very thankful I have plenty of cabinet space in my kitchen because I have almost all kitchen tools you can think of. When it comes to Birthdays and Christmas, I want nothing but kitchen items! With that said, there is truly only a few items I believe you 100% need. These are my must-haves.
High-powered blender
No your college $20 blender that you purchased to make Piña Coladas is not what I am talking about. You also do not need to purchase that $400-500 blender that you see all over social media. What I mean, is a decent high powered blender that you are comfortable with because silky smooth purees or that butternut squash soup is worth the purchase!
Instant-Read Thermometer
My mother can just look at something and tell whether it is at the perfect temperature. I am not there just yet. So a good thermometer is very essential to me!
Garlic Press
Fresh Garlic. That’s it.
Mandoline
I am still learning how to use this tool…. I say that because I am so not safe with this tool at all! This should NOT discourage you from purchasing though. When it comes to consistent slices, this is the one tool you will need! I trust you will be much better at using it than I am. or just purchase gloves to go along with it 😉
Rimmed Baking Sheets
Commercial-grade baking sheets, or better known as “sheet pans”. These come in handy in lots of recipes! I recommend having several sizes and a couple of each.
Bowls, bowls, and more bowls!
This is one thing I have an abundance of. Prep bowls, mixing bowls, servings bowls, and lots of them. I love my ceramic condiment bowls that I use for prepping. I believe I have like 20 of them. I find it easy to prep everything I need and then cook away. I use these to hold measured out spices, my chopped onion, or to whisk a small sauce mixture I may need. Yes, this means more dishes but the part of me that needs everything organized thanks me.
Dutch Oven
Yes, I have an instant pot, crockpot, pressure cooker, etc. but I don’t know how I could ever get through those cold winter months without one of these. Because of how heavy it is, a dutch oven perfectly distributes heat through your slow cooked dishes. Its oven proof and personally, I think it makes food taste so much better than any other fun tool I may own. Plus, because they are so attractive, you can go straight from your kitchen to the dining table. No additional serving platters needed!
Cast Iron Pan
The perfect pan that is ideal for frying and baking! The care for a cast iron can take a little learning but it is worth having one!
Other favorite fun tools I own…
- Ninja Foodi Pressure Cooker & Air Fryer
- Crockpot
- Kitchen Aid Mixer
- Immersion Blender
- Food Processor
- Waffle Maker
- Cast-iron Tortilla Press
- Thick, good quality, cutting board
Now start building that Birthday or Christmas list!
